TWC on hold through the holidays

It saddens me to put TWC on hold, but my RL is extremely busy right now with holiday things, placing my new puppies with good homes, and end of the year  accounting business and a long list of appraisals that must be done by 12/31/12. My mind needs rest to write what I feel is worthy material for you to read, and I can't do that right now. I anticipate the hiatus to only go through the first of the year, so I'm not looking at months, just a few weeks. I hope everyone understands and waits for me in 2013. Feel free to PM me, FB me or tweet if you wanna talk. I'm usually lurking about somewhere. Thanks! You guys are the greatest.

TWC update to my girls for some TLC

Finally! I've gotten the next chapter of TWC written, preread, and off via email to my trusted com padres (kare831, darcysmom, and twimom817) for the Red Pen Treatment. 

Anticipating a post within the next few days. Again, sorry for the delay but the November/December holidays are busy and I just haven't had time to get it complete till now, and I didn't want to bother my girls over Thanksgiving. 

Got the majority of my Christmas shopping done on Black Friday-Cyber Monday and everything that is in my possession is wrapped and under the tree, so for once I'm not going to be shopping frantically down to Christmas Eve. 

Now, if the people would just ship the rest of my freaking merchandise, and hubs would stop procrastinating I'd be set. After 25 years, you'd think I'd realize that's not happening. He'll be out, ticked off, on Christmas Eve looking for that "perfect thing" that sold out two weeks prior. He's got our 23 yo daughter, our 20 yo son, his mom, dad, sis, bro in law, two little nieces and a baby nephew to buy his gifts for. (No, what I buy from us both is never enough) I got everyone on the in laws side a zipper fleece from Old Navy. The little ones also got pjs and a movie a piece. He's solo on the rest. Lol. 

So, I'm off to bed to the chorus of a congested, snoring man to my right. Thank God for nerve meds...Laters, baby!

WONDERFUL BD2 Gift from @kare831

Received this in my PO Box yesterday. WOW! 

She told me she was sending me swag from the LA premiere, but I had NO IDEA that she was sending me a hand-autographed BD2 calendar, along with several official posters, baseball-type cards and a cool BD2 keychain. 

To say I was surprised would be a huge understatement and I now I know I would have met these fine people in person since I was SUPPOSED to fly from Kentucky to LA to attend this event with Kare and the others.This was such a selfless and thoughtful gift. 

The official calendar has most all of the cast including, Robert Pattinson, Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Elisabeth Reaser, Ashley Greene, Taylor Lautner, Julia Jones, Michael Welch, Michael Sheen & the Queen Bee herself, Stephanie Meyer! 

Exceptions were Kristen, Nikki, Kellan and Jackson, but hey, I'm cool with that!

Chapter 17 of Two Worlds Collide to betas

I'm happy to say that darcysmom, kare831 and twimom817 have the latest update in their possession, and I'll update as soon as the edits are made. RL is busy for all four of us, so I want to thank each reader for their patience as we bounce these chapters across the country and timelines. Oh, and there's this little movie called Breaking Dawn 2 premiering in a few days so I where most of us will be this Thursday. Heck, Kare is there now!! Lol. Hope she's having a blast, and yes I'm still a bit bummed that my RL didn't allow my planned trip to share in the experience in LA. But, it's all good...my little hometown expects me to be first in line so I'd hate to disappoint my local fans. ") ok, Hubs is getting ready to watch the newest Finding Bigfoot (but no, he doesn't believe in vegetarian vampires, go figure) so I'm free to read my latest fan fic, All the Wild Horses. I'm on chapter 4, and so far its pretty good. I just finished High Fidelity and Glass House this weekend. Good completed reads. For a good WIP rec, check out When You Least Expect It by Kare831. TWC update finally off to Betaland!

What a weekend...I'm punch drunk today from lack of sleep, but I'm proud to say that as of 2:15am today, the next update has been placed in the highly capable hands of my beta team. It was a doozy to write. I'm on their schedule now, but I anticipate having this chapter posted by mid week. Also, sending prayers to those effected by Hurricane Sandy.

Hello all. Just a quickie blog post to say that I'm working all day today on the next TWC update. I had a slight writer's block on a cetain section, but I THINK I;ve gotten past it now. Not sure when I'll post; it depends on how long this takes me and when my betas can get to it. Hopefully, I can post sometime in the next few dayslso, I wanted to say a HUGE "thank you" to the readers that voted for Two Worlds Collide as Best WIP Fantsy Romance in the Emerging Swan Awards. It's my first win, so it's pretty special to me. Anyhow, I need to get back to it. It's Noon on Saturday here...gotta get busy.

Thank you to kare831, darcysmom, and twimom817 for all the hard work they put in behind the scenes. Thanks to credoroza for her faith in me as a writer from the beginning of LDTW thru.now, and for her willingness to post these nice things on my blog for me. I have no idea how to do any of that. 

Lastly, but most importanly, thanks to all the readers who.follow me and my stories. I write for my love of it, and you all make it so much more than I ever imagined. I know I've been off kilter as of late, and my health (and now my hubs health) doesn't seem to want to cooperate, posting is erratic, and I hate all of that. 

Thanks from the depths of my heart for hanging in there. I'm not quitting this...I promise.

I'm actually writing!!!

Finally, I've written in the next chapter of TWC. Seems like it has been forever, and it feels really good to be back in the saddle. Tomorrow is Columbus Day so I'm off...hope to get this to my girls then and post later this week. ") Thank you, again for your patience and support while I've been under the weather with my skin and joints. You guys are the BEST READERS EVER!!

So sorry for the lack of posting.

I hate that I've gone another week without feeling up to writing TWC. This flare has knocked me for a loop, and with multiple trips to doc and numerous topical and oral meds I'm not much better. I'm not quitting this story. I will complete it, but am asking for your patience and understanding. When my mindset is back where it needs to be, I'll continue, but not until I know I am up to it. I finally got the chance to see Cosmopolis with my friend and Twitter bud, @LSU07. We had a great dinner at the Olive Garden and lots of funny, stimulating convo over our favorite Fan Fics. The movie was interesting and I thought Rob did an outstanding job in the obscure role. The sex and almost nudity were a plus too. ;)

Mini Vaca

Heading out with several friends for a long weekend of music, water, camping and all that goes with it. :) won't be writing, but I'll be ready to post a new chapter of TWC when I get back Monday. Plus I'm working on a new plot bunny...ex-Army Edward living on a farm in Tennessee. Yeah...it's coming along slowly but I'm loving it so far. Story reviews and constructive criticism

Good Friday to everyone! I'm going to climb all 4'11 of me onto my soapbox and make a comment about reviews.
Recently I've had my first experience with negative reviews. Now, with that said, I know I'm not a perfect writer. My chosen profession is as a real estate appraiser and I worked hard for my degree. I haven't had any writing classes since high school and I graduated nearly 25 years ago. If it weren't for my pre-readers and betas I'd be ashamed to post a chapter of anything I write now. LDTW was my first attempt at writing since 1987. Some of you weren't even born yet. I didn't know about betas so I wrote and posted the first 5-6 chapters of LDTW strictly using spell check. Yep. True. I know those chapters are a mess, BUT I chose to leave them be for now so I can look back and gauge my improvement.
Which brings me to my reason for being here today.
I don't agree with the Guest Review option in Fan Fiction. It gives the reader a forum, but the writer doesn't have equal opportunity to comment or defend, as it were, their actions. I think all readers have the right to voice their opinion, but in order to do that, I think they should be required to log in. Fan Fiction dropped the ball on this feature...especially when anonymous review option is turned off on my account.
And now my rant begins...
Readers, you have the option to flounce. No one makes you read a certain story. If I insult you, your Mother or your dog, by name, by all means, call me out on it. I'd do the same thing. However, flaming up about the writer's choice in how they depict the characters in their stories is not up to you or is it in your rights to come apart about it publicly. Reviews are meant or praises and constructive criticism. Constructive criticism should be said in a non-degrading fashion and there needs to be a strong reasoning behind them. Not "I hate when writers make Bella wimpy" or "I can't read a story that has so many stretches on the truth. Have you tried Googling your facts?"
Um, these comments are not likely to make the writer want to fall over their feet to please you. These stories are fictional, not autobiographies or history books. The writer has the right to bend the story as they see fit. Thats the beauty of Fan Fiction. Do you remember the book that began all this craze? It was a story about an insecure teenage girl and a teenage vampire that fall in love...oh, and there was that crazy part with the teenage Native Americans that shape shift into huge wolves designed to kill vampires. Totally happens where I live daily. What? That's fictional? Oh, yeah! That's right! It was written for entertainment!!
I guess the old adage "If you can't say something nice, say nothing" fits. Try and remember that and all the hard work and spare time amateur writers put into their stories. Okay?

Good Monday morning, my friends! Hope you had a stellar weekend and that this Monday is a blessed one. Just letting you know that chapter 11 of TWC is off to be edited by the awesome darcysmom, kare831 and twimom817. It's a LONG chapter for me at almost 9k words in its rough draft.
I'll post as soon as the ladies have time to edit and me make the needed corrections. SOON is all I can promise, and I'd love to see the review counts rise, so if you're reading, please take just a sec to let me know what you think. Please??

In unrelated news, I've posted my outtake of chapter 34 of LDTW entitled Jacob's Downfall. I know I marked LDTW complete, but I went ahead and added it as the last chapter so no one that was a fan of the story would miss it. I don't plan on writing anything more in LDTW, but you never know. If a worthy cause catches my eye, I might be convinced to write that epilogue. :D Lastly, I want to thank all my readers that made LDTW surpass my goal of 1000+ reviews. Wow!! I never dreamed it would happen with such a story, and I owe it all to you guys for pimping, favoriting and reviewing like clockwork.

TWC update and a new project in the works

Hello and happy Friday! Just a quick post to let you all know that chapter 11 of TWC is in the works, and I hope to complete it over the weekend. Thank for your patience as I attempt to get this train back on a weekly schedule. On a brighter note, I'm proud to announce that I'm collaborating for the first time ever with the talented kare831 on an entry in the Taste of the Forbidden contest. We're stretching our boundaries a bit, okay more than a bit, but I have to say, the story so far is HOT and coming along nicely..since its an anonymous contest I can't divulge anything else. :) you will just have to read the entries and try to figure it out. Lol.

Shocker!! TWC update is complete!!

It's in my A/N but so sorry for the long time between updates. Summer is harder for me to commit to a set posting schedule since I do have a busy life right now. Work is wide open, and thats a good problem when you're self employed. ;) I've also completed my 16 hour college course, so that won't be an issue for another year. Hubs and I do enjoy boating and fishing, so that does take up a lot of my writing time during nice weather. Chapter ten is now in the uber talented hands of darcysmom and kare831. I hope to have edits completed for a Saturday or Sunday post. I hope you enjoy!!

TWC & LDTW

I'm working on the TWC update, I promise. But I have one beta out of town at Comic Con (happy for her and slightly jealous...lol) and I've been out of town since Wednesday for required education for my job. I didn't take my laptop along, and I truly had no spare time to read updates, let alone write any meaningful words. Ten hours of driving and all 16 hours of my college course are now behind me. Maybe, just maybe, I'm back in the real world for a while. I'll post as soon as I can. Thanks for all the reviews and begging for more TWC. I was unsure how this story would be received, and each reader has made my writing it worth it. :) also, I'm proud to report LDTW is just 6 reviews shy of my 1000 mark goal!! That fic was my baby...I'm no BNA...not even a LNA, but you guys make me feel amazing and accomplished. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Terribly saddened by the tragic loss of Gisela

Our Fandom has suffered a terrible loss at CC. Although I didn't know her personally, I feel the loss deeply from the outpouring of condolences and prayers from the Twilight cast and directors, the entertainment industry, and fellow members of our wonderful Fandom. Update soon!! Two Worlds Collide

I thought when my kids were grown and moved away I'd have all this wonderful spare time for myself. HA! It seems I'm always pulled away from my writing for one reason or another. With that being said, I finally finished chapter 9 late last night and it's been sent to my girls for prereading and editing. Hope to update soon!

Letting Down the Walls is complete!!

With a huge sigh and little bit of chest pain, I'm marking LDTW as a complete story. I've tried for several days to write an appropriate epilogue, and everything seems forced or redundant. I consulted with my beta ladies, and they gave me their opinions. With this said, I decided to forego the epi and leave the HEA from chapter 35 as the ending. There will be an outtake posted later in July that ties up a few loose Leah/Jake issues. I hope this isn't too much of a disappointment to my readers. I just feel like a forced ending will ruin everything I worked to create. Thank you for all the support and love I've been given by the Fandom. It really made a newbie writer feel welcome and quite accomplished by the end of LDTW. Love you all and I hope to see you around with new stories of your own or with new writing adventures of mine.

TwiFic Meet Up 2013

Just found out today that the event will be held in Chicago!! That means a 6-7 hour drive or a short flight for me from Western Kentucky. I had to miss Vegas due to various RL issues that hit me just weeks before and I hated missing out on meeting some of my readers and many fellow writers I respect. I'm already counting the days till June 2013!!

I want to start off by saying THANKS to whoever has been pimping Letting Down the Walls lately. I've had several new alerts added in the past week. Makes my heart swell to know that people are still reading LDTW. Here's the timeline for completion. I have the outtake in the F4NKH compilation, and I will post that as soon as its released. That will only leave the epilogue, and I'm planning on having it done by the end of June. So, if all goes well, LDTW will be marked COMPLETE mid-July. Thanks again to the readers for making my first story a huge success.

TWC update is off to my kickass betas!

First off, I'm sorry. Looks like TWC won't update as frequently as LDTW. Its taking more thought for me, and the extra work takes time. I appreciate everyone's patience as RL continues to grate on my sanity. No end to the drama.
Secondly, and most importantly, I've sent the rough draft of chapter 6 to Kare, Jill and darcysmom. I'll post as soon as they can edit and I can make the changes, hopefully this weekend.

Chapter 5 TWC off to Betaland!!

Yeah, I'm off schedule. RL has been a total fail for several weeks. I don't even remember what normal feels like. But, I did complete chapter 5 and it's off to the three lovelies that clean my stuff up. Love those girls.

Hope to post in the next day or so, I promise. I also wanted to pass along many thanks to Credoroza, who will graciously be assisting me in getting my fics on my blog without them being attached to FFn. With all the drama over ratings and pulled fics, I'd hate for my readers to lose me and their stories. I'm also posting TWC on AO3. I'll continue to use FFn until my hand is forced to do otherwise.

Pretty eye candy for TWC

I have no graphic talent...but I'm glad I found someone that does. Mel has been willing to work on anything I've asked of her. TWC is tough. Kristen is so beautiful and young, it was a challenge to make her appear 35. I couldn't find pics of Edward as a vampire doc either. I asked Mel and TADA!! Thanks, my friend. Great work as always!!

TWC has updated!! Twice in three days!

Don't get used to it. Lol. The holiday weekend allowed for an extra day of writing. Thanks a million to Kare and darcysmom for talking the time out of their Memorial Day to edit this chapter. Everyone was out and about so it's really amazing that we got this posted tonight. 

Reading Rec...TwoTwiMoms wrote an incredible fic, What Fills the Eye Fills the Heart, and the final regular chapter posted this weekend. If you haven't read this, I urge you to go now and do it!! Irishward makes me a slobbering mess, in a good way. ;)

Update! Update! Update of TWC!

No, you aren't seeing things. Two Worlds Collide has finally updated!! 

It seems everything that could got in the way this time, but things are looking up and should be back on schedule now. My beta team just posted their final chapter of Irishward. They've been extremely busy and I thank them for taking the time to edit for me but a note to the readers, all screw ups and grammatical errors belong to me alone. They tried. I've got a new laptop and can't use my Microsoft Word, I'm apologizing now. 

I've reread and reread till my eyes crossed and still had to edit twice at the Fan Fiction site. Hopefully by the next update I'll have my new word processor figured out.

Finally!! Progress on TWC!

My writing muses and mojo finally came back to me and I've made significant progress on chapter 3. I had to make the meeting between Edward and Bella perfect and the feel was just ...off. 

I've found what feels and reads how I like it. Hopefully you will too.

Fingers Crossed!

As most of you know, I've logged about 2000 miles on my butt this week driving all over the state of Kentucky, with my FIL having open heart surgery and for my continuing education. I've been working from the crack of dawn and then sitting at the hospital with FIL till ten at night, then driving an hour back home just to collapse in bed. 

It's been a long and draining week. I'm glad to say he came home yesterday and is doing as well as can be expected. I'm sitting with him today to give my MIL and SIL a break and I'm taking my laptop with me. I hope to get chapter three of TWC typed and sent to my girls by tonight. 

No promises though. I WILL get back on track with my posting, but I'm asking for your patience until things get back to some sort of normal in my life. I know you guys are the best readers in the Fandom, so I'm pretty confident that you'll be understanding of my situation.

My Laptop is Fixed!!

$224.00 later and a Windows 7 upload and my laptop is back in operation. :) 

I lost everything...pictures, drafts of LDTW, email addresses, and my Word CD isn't compatible, but I can rebuild. 

Now, maybe writing won't be such a production. Onward to work and maybe some TWC tonight.

Happy Mother's Day and Happy 26th birthday, Rob!

Hope all the mom's out there had a great day. I was blessed to spend my day with both kids, my mom, my mother-in-law, and the rest of my immediate family. Had a nice Thai lunch from the kids and then hubs had a fish fry for us tonight. I'm stuffed.
Also, happy 26th birthday to Rob. Hope you had a paparazzi free, relaxing day.

Happy Mother's Day weekend!! Hope that all the mothers, grandmothers, step-mothers, foster mothers and others acting in a child's life as a mom, have a great weekend! I'd you're lucky enough to be able to speak to your mom, be sure to tell her that you love her. Life is short and can change in a heartbeat.

Happy Friday! I have chapter 2 sent to my girls for editing. I'm hoping to post later today or at the latest Saturday. With this being Mother's Day weekend in the US, and my FIL is having 4-bypass open heart surgery on Monday, I may have too much RL going on to post another chapter over the weekend. We'll see.
